After outlaw brothers Frank and Bertrum Devlin rob the Cumberland Stagecoach, a bounty hunter - McFarlane - soon tracks them down. During a shootout in Sweet Water Canyon, The bounty hunter kills Bertrum Devlin and apprehends his brother Frank. As the bounty hunter makes his way back to town to claim the reward, various obstacles get in his way, including Frank Devlin and a fur trapper with a stubborn mule in tow.
