Thomas Gunn was the latest attempt to bring to market
another character within the western. It is set during the period of the
pioneers attempt to conqueror the legendary prairies of the Wild West. It is
the perfect backdrop in which to find a western hero. Thomas Gun, a man with
rough methods, is the protagonist and his unusual adventures in saloons and the
inevitable victim of fascinating beauties.
The publishing house Augsburg tries, entrusting a respected
name in the heading, the story and the designs are entrusted to Max Bunker
(Luciano Secchi), a name that strives for the modernity of his covers, immortal
and idolized by fans for decades (see Kriminal, Satanik, El Gringo, etc). The
series, consists of only one issue, although it is has been announced the
release of the second issue "The embrace of death", never published.
The only book in issue therefore remains only the first, entitled "Gold
Blackfork".

Max Bunker, pseudonym of Luciano Secchi (August 24, 1939,
Milan, Lombardy, Italy), is an Italian comic book writer, best known as author
of Alan Ford in 1969.
His career started with a western style comic book
Maschera Nera (Black Mask), in 1962. He created with success comics such as
Kriminal and Satanik in collaboration with Magnus (Roberto Raviola). Also with
Magnus, the series Maxmagnus proved successful, though arguably Bunker's most
famous comics series is Alan Ford (published in May 1969), for which he wrote
scenarios, with Magnus responsible for the artwork in the first 75 issues.
