RIP David Whitaker




 Director Marshall Harvey reports that British composer David Whitaker passed away Wednesday January 10, 2011 in Oxfordshire, England at the age of 81.

He was best known for his scores for "Hammerhead" (1968), ), "Run Wild, Run Free" (1969), "Scream and Scream Again" (1970)," ),"Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde"  (1971), "Vampire Circus" (1972), and more recently, "With a Friend Like Harry" (2000). Whitaker composed the score for the Euro-western "Desperados" (1969) and was the conductor of Jerry Fielding's score for "Lawman" (1971)

David and Marshall became good friends when David did the music on "The Sword and Sorcerer" (1982). Marshall and his wife visited David and his wonderful wife, Sue, during their honeymoon in England. Marshall said, "He was always fun to be around and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by his many fans."
