Sergio Grieco was born on January 13, 1917 in Codevigo, Padua, Italy. He became a solid craftsman and skilled performer of action sequences, after a long career as a writer he found his footing in costume and adventure films sometimes directing as Sergio Alessandri or Terence Hathaway is such titles as “The Mysterious Swordsman (1956), “Queen of the Tartars” 1961) and then Spy Films, born in the wake of the success of James Bond such as “From the Orient with Fury” (1965) and “Special Mission Lady Chaplin” (1966). The '70s saw him struggling in the most successful genres but popular among his best results were “The Mad Dog Killer” (1977). He left the industry in 1979. Among his 39 films was one western “Where the Bullets Fly” (1972) which he wrote and directed. Sergio died on March 30, 1982 in Rome. Today we remember Sergio Grieco on what would have been his 95th birthday.
