Who Are Those Guys? - Rafael Bardem


Rafael Bardem Solé was born in Barcelona, Spain on January 10, 1889. He was the brother of actresses Guadalupe Muñoz Sampedro [1896-1975] Mercedes Muñoz Sampedro [18??-1979] and Matilde Muñoz Sampedro [1900-1969. Rafael was married to actress Matilde Muñoz Sampedro [1900-1969] from 1918 until her death in 1969. He was the father of director, screenwriter, actor Juan Antonio Bardem [1922-2002] and actress Pilar Bardem [1939- ] and grandfather screenwriter, actor Carlos Bardem [1963- ], actress Mónica Bardem [1964- ] and producer, actor Javier Bardem [1969- ]. Rafael began his career in the Spanish theater company of Rosario Pino at the age of 20 and continued for thirty years. He made his film debut in 1941's "Tierra y cielo" directed by Eusebio Fernández Ardavín. He would go on to appear in over 100 films usually in character and supporting roles. He appeared in four Euro-westerns from 1955 until 1966.
